Titan Swim, Dive Teams Lose Dual to Carthage

Carthage, Illinois Wesleyan Dual Meet, Nov. 13 - Complete Results

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan's men's and women's swimming and diving teams each lost dual meets to Carthage on Saturday, Nov. 13 at IWU's Fort Natatorium.

The men lost by a 177.5 to 78.5 score while the women fell, 154 to 137.

For the men, the lone individual event winner was Marcus Duval, who got first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.23. The Titans swept the event with Tommy Gilbert taking second (2:09.68) and Gabe Chanez third (2:18.59).
The men's 400 free relay team, consisting of Mikey Firth, Sam Mitchell, Cameron Barnish and Kendall Held, also got first with a time of 3:24.24.

For the women, Andrea Peterson, Katie McHugh and Lindsey DeSutter were all double winners.
Peterson won the 100 backstroke (1:01.22) and 200 backstroke (2:10.98) while McHugh won the 100 butterfly (1:00.82) and 200 butterfly (2:15.12).
DeSutter was the winner in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving with 201.45 points and 201.15 points, respectively.

Illinois Wesleyan hosts an invitational meet next Saturday, Nov. 20, with the diving starting at 10 a.m. and the swimming at 1 p.m.
