Complete Results, IWU vs. Millikin, Jan. 22
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan men's and women's swim teams defeated Millikin in dual meets at IWU's Fort Natatorium on Friday, Jan. 22. The men won by a 158-63 score and the women took a 197-63 victory.
Twelve events were won by Illinois Weseyan women, including three by freshman
Katie McHugh, who took the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle races along with the 200 individual medley.
Other female winners were
Brogan Riches (1000 freestyle),
Andrea Peterson (100 backstroke),
Chelsea Werries (100 breaststroke),
Katie Bell (200 breaststroke),
Lauren Hansen (500 freestyle),
Lia Anderson (50 freestyle),
Katy McCortney (one meter diving),
Angela Lugg (100 freestyle) and
Kate Haynes (200 backstroke).
The men produced nine winning events with three won by
Tommy Gilbert (100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 individual medley) and two by senior
Michael Kozak (100 and 200 butterfly.
Other winners for the men were
Chris Betzle (1000 freestyle),
Cameron Barnish (200 freestyle),
Mike Firth (100 backstroke) and
Shane Mrozek (200 backstroke).
In addition, the men's and women's 200 medley and 200 free relay teams were winners over the Big Blue.
The Titans travel to Greencastle, Ind., on Saturday, Jan. 23 for a dual meet.
