Illinois Wesleyan senior Alissa Goetz currently ranks second all-time at IWU with 42 career doubles wins and she is 19th in school records with 40 career singles victories.
She finshed fourth at No. 4 singles in both the 2011 and 2012 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships, was fourth at No. 5 singles In 2010 CCIW and was third at No. 6 singles in 2009 CCIW.
Goetz teamed with Lauren Drawbridge to finish third at No. 2 doubles in 2012 CCIW tournament after finishing fourth in 2011 and second at No. 3 doubles in 2010.
A co-captain of the 2011-12 team, Alissa is a psychology major at Illinois Wesleyan and the daughter of Harry and Carla Goetz.


Why you chose Illinois Wesleyan: Because I knew Lauren  Drawbridge would come here a year later and become my doubles partner ?

IWU class you’re most qualified to teach: Tennis gym class!!

The hardest challenge about being a Division III student-athlete is: When we have to do punishments for losing (Macarena, leap frog, wacky jacks)

I’m deathly afraid of ...: Sharks

Worst habit:  Knowing all the words to every song.

Most expensive traffic ticket: $300 and I had to go to a driving class…worst ticket ever.

Language I’d like to learn: Anything originating from a country with a tropical beach and those little umbrella drinks.

The longest I could survive without my cell phone: Probably about an hour, and that’s being generous.

One word your mother or father would use to describe you: Favorite.

Favorite sports figures: All the St Louis Cardinals

My greatest moment in sports was: When Lauren and I almost beat Wheaton in doubles.

The best player I ever faced was: Anyone on the Wheaton tennis team

Worst dresser on my team: None of us, we all look fantastic all the time…

Thing that’s been in my fridge the longest: Lauren's birthday cake

Person I’m dying to have dinner with: Ellen DeGeneres; I like to laugh at dinner.

Favorite food: Sushi

Vegetable I won’t eat: Brussel sprouts

Pepsi or Coke? Coke

Favorite TV show: "Friends"

Favorite musical group: Matchbox Twenty today…

Favorite movie: You should talk to Helen Alex…she made a list of my favorite movies that I have yet to see.

If a movie were made of my life, I would like the following person to play me: Lauren  Drawbridge

If my life were on TV as a reality show, I’d call it: "Alissa Goetz and The Challenge" (all those people who think they can beat me at tennis)

The person in history I would most like to meet is: Heath Ledger

My dream job would be: Professional IWU student/enthusiast

Place I’d most like to live: Under the arch in St. Louis

Two things that are tops on my “bucket list”: Visit Ireland and go see the "Ellen DeGeneres Show."

My possession that would fetch the most on eBay: My fake Hedgehog

Who is the luckiest person in the world? Lauren  Drawbridge….for being my doubles partner.

What I miss most about being in the third grade: Recess
