Illinois Wesleyan senior Kirsten Slaughter (Urbana, Ill. / Urbana HS) was a Division III All-American in both 2015 and 2014 in the 50 freestyle. She is a two-time winner of the IWU women's swimming "Most Valuable Performer" honor and was the co-winner of the 2015 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin "Female Swimmer of the Year" award and was named the CCIW "Female Swimmer of the Meet" in both 2014 and 2015.
As an environmental studies major, Slaughter was elected to the 2015 Academic All-District 7 Women's At-Large team and was on the ballot for the Academic All-America Team. She was selected by the Common Ground food co-operative to receive support as its 2012 Sustainable Food Scholar and was among a group of IWU students who attended 2014 Lobby Day sponsored by Illinois Environmental Council, where students lobbied their representatives and senators on select environmental bills.
