LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team received the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the fourth straight season, and sixth all-time, the association announced Thursday, July 23.

Since 1992, the association has recognized collegiate and high school volleyball teams (men/women boys/girls, and indoor/beach) that showed excellence in the classroom. In order to receive the award, a team must maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. All nine College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin institutions garnered the honor.

In the classroom, the Green and White were led by two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American senior Kannyn Boyd (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.-Mt. Pleasant). Earning her degree in elementary education, she was the first Titan to earn back-to-back selections since LeAnn Genzel did so in 1997-98. Boyd was joined on the CSC Academic All-District team by senior Hannah Tellor (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora), junior Sophia Feeney (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), and sophomore Alex Bardouniotis (St. Charles, Ill.-St. Charles North). The reigning CCIW regular season & tournament champions landed nine members on the academic all-conference list.

The 2026 IWU women's volleyball season will kick off with five straight home games as the Titans will host its first two tournaments of the season beginning with a tri Tuesday, Sept. 1 against Wartburg and Aurora.
