Flag Football Runs it Back Against Illinois College

Third meeting of the season between the two teams

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University flag football team takes on the Illinois College Lady Blues for the third time in 2026, Saturday, April 4 in Jacksonville, Ill. at 11 a.m. IWU has won both of the prior meetings including a 26-13 victory, last Saturday, March 28. The Titans enter at 6-3 while the Lady Blues sit at 3-2.

Last Saturday, freshman Emma Caniglia (Addison, Ill.-Addison) torched the Lady Blues for 202 passing yards, completing 29-of-47 attempts for two touchdowns. She also added 60 rushing yards and a TD. 

Freshman Natalyia Stallings (Rockford, Ill.-Guilford) led the receiving room with nine catches for 78 yards. Freshman Layah Glover (Gurnee, Ill.- Round Lake) turned six catches into 63 yards, followed by seven from freshman Deanna Cirebea (Bartlett, Ill.-Bartlett) for 27 yards.

Freshman Nakilah Mason (Chicago, Ill.-Chicago Military Academy) was productive on the defensive end, finishing with 10 flag pulls, including three for a total loss of 33 yards. Stallings grabbed eight flags, while freshman Zoey Vasquez (Independence, Mo.-William Chrisman) finished with six. 

The Titans also took down IC, Sunday, March 8, 27-19, at Halas Hall. Caniglia and freshman Maylin Nunez (Chicago, Ill.-Taft) split time at the quarterback position, with Caniglia going 9-for-16 with one passing touchdown. She also added a rushing touchdown. Nunez completed 9-of-16 passes with one touchdown, while rushing for 41 yards on seven attempts. Glover added on to her stellar day, catching six passes for 95 yards with two touchdowns. Defensively, freshman Kennedy Murray (Evanston, Ill.-Evanston) led the team with seven flag pulls while Caniglia hauled in two interceptions.
