Track and Field Prepped for Three Meet Weekend

Titans ready for second weekend of outdoor season

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University track and field teams head across the Midwest this weekend Thursday-Saturday, March 26-28, for three meets. Several Titans will head to the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Mo. March 26-27, while the remainder of the team will settle at the Redbird Challenge across town in Normal, Ill. and the Big Blue Alumni Invite in Decatur, Ill. Saturday, March 28. 

IWU is coming off of its inaugural outdoor meet of the season last weekend Saturday, March 21 at the TCU Alumni Invite in Fort Worth, Texas where eight Titans recorded career-best times. Freshman Mallory Short (Lincoln, Ill.-Lincoln) had personal-best times in two sprinting events, clocking a 25.88 in the 200m and a 58.06 in the 400m. 

Sophomore Kelsey Moore (Arcola, Ill.-Arcola) also recorded a career-best in the 100m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 15.80 and finishing 29th. Junior Cole Marshall (Mahomet, Ill.-Mahomet Seymour) placed 30th in the men's 100m, finishing in career-best fashion with a time of 10.85. Marshall's time is tied for fourth-fastest in program history.

Additionally in the men's 100m, sophomore Nyamedze Maison (Groveland, Ill.-Morton) matched his personal-best time of 10.99, which remains the ninth-best time in program history. 

This weekend will mark the 2026 outdoor debut of many Titans, including 17 indoor U.S. Track & Field and Coaches and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region selections, three First Team All-Americans, and one Second Team All-American.
