Cleveland Reels in Fifth CCIW Weekly Award

First player this season to earn honors in back-to-back weeks

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball sophomore Noah Cleveland (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) earned his second consecutive College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week honor Monday, Feb. 9, announced by the league office. It is the fifth time this season Cleveland has earned the honor, the most by a Titan in a single season.

Cleveland led IWU to two CCIW wins this week. The sophomore rookie averaged 22.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists while adding two steals and a pair of blocks. More notably, he was unbelievably efficient over the course of the week. Playing a team-high 69 minutes, he converted 71.4 percent of his shots (20-of-28). 

Cleveland started the week with a near triple-double in an 82-71 win over Wheaton, Wednesday, Feb. 4. Cleveland went for 12 points, a career-high 17 rebounds, and a career-best nine assists. His week came to a close with a 32-point showing in a rout of Elmhurst, Saturday, Feb. 7, as IWU blew by the Bluejays, 91-69. Cleveland went 14-for-17 from the field while adding in five rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Cleveland and the Titans end the regular season on a three-game roadtrip, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Millikin University. Tipoff from Decatur, Ill. is scheduled for 7 p.m.
