Bardic Earns CCIW Player of the Week Award

First weekly award of her career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball senior co-captain Ava Bardic (Lincolnshire, Ill.-Stevenson) was named the recipient of the final College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week award of the season Tuesday, Feb. 24. It is the first weekly award of her career and just the second by a Titan this season.

Bardic continued her historic campaign with two more strong performances, Feb. 18-21. She averaged 21.0 points per game on 14-of-33 shooting (42.4 percent) while going 5-of-12 from beyond the arc. The senior guard made 9-of-12 free throws, while adding in eight steals, five rebounds, and four assists.

In limited minutes in IWU's blowout win over Wheaton, Bardic scored 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting with four boards. She closed the regular season with a near double-double against Augustana, Feb. 21. In the regular season finale, she popped off for 26 points while pulling in a career-high seven steals and adding three assists.

The Green and White head into the CCIW Tournament with a bye into the semifinals. IWU will play in a 5 p.m. game in Waukesha, Wis. Friday, Feb. 27, with its opponents set to be determined based on Tuesday's quarterfinals.
