White Lands CSC Academic All-District Status

Senior advances to the ballot for Academic All-America

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University senior women's basketball student-athlete Sawyer White (Downers Grove, Ill.-Montini Catholic) was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District list released Tuesday, March 24. She will advance to the ballot for CSC Academic All-America after earning all-district honors for the third straight year.

White, a co-captain for the Titans, spent the fall semester student teaching while juggling the start of the season. An elementary education major with a 3.85 grade point average, she pieced together a stellar senior campaign. Named Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-America Honorable Mention, White was a unanimous First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selection and earned D3hoops.com All-Region 8 Second Team status.

The Downers Grove, Ill. native averaged 13.4 points per game on 41.3 percent shooting. She was second on the team with 49 made three-pointers and tacked on a team-high 128 assists. White became the program's all-time steals leader with 111 in her final season, while swatting a team-high 21 shots. She posted 23 double-digit scoring performances, including a career-high 37-point effort against Carroll, Jan. 3. She collected the first double-double of her career with 17 points and a career-high 10 assists in IWU's regular season finale against Augustana, Feb. 21.

Illinois Wesleyan finished the season with a 23-6 record on the year. IWU shared the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Championship with a 15-1 league record, but went on to claim the league's tournament title and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

White advances to the ballot for CSC Academic All-America. The teams will be unveiled Wednesday, April 15.
