BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming & diving teams are set to compete in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Swimming Championships Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 18-21. The four-day meet will take place at the Recplex in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
The Titans enter the conference championships with 28 times within the top-15 in the league. Senior Kayleigh Kuschewski (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) holds five times near the top of the CCIW. Kuschewski sits fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke, sixth in the 400-yard individual medley, seventh in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley, and ninth in the 200-yard backstroke. Senior Natalie Porter (Danville, Ill.-Danville) closely follows with four top-15 marks, as she ranks third in the 1650-yard freestyle, fourth in the 500-yard freestyle, 10th in the 200-yard freestyle, and 12th in the 200 IM.Â
Two Titans hold a trio of top-15 times. Freshman Abby Schnittker (Lombard, Ill.-Willowbrook) ranks fourth in the 100-yard butterfly, fifth in the 100-yard freestyle, ninth in the 50-yard freestyle. Junior Sam Borre (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) holds the third-best time in the 200 back, eighth in the 100-yard backstroke, and 10th in the 500 free.
Freshman Ellen Hoover (Naperville, Ill.-Naperville Central) and junior Claire Paule (Godfrey, Ill.-Alton) each bring in two times within the top-15. Hoover will enter with the fourth-fastest time in the 200-yard butterfly. She also ranks ninth in the 200 IM. Paule holds the sixth-best time in the 1650 free and 11th-best mark in the 500 free.Â
Senior Julianna Boyle (Carol Stream, Ill.-Glenbard West) ranks 12th in the 1650 free to round out the top-15 marks on the women's side.
For the men, sophomore Tate Thoams (Joliet, Ill.-Joliet West) holds the ninth-fastest time in the 500 free and the 11th-best time in the 200 free. He also ranks within the top-10 in the 1650 free, entering the meet in seventh.Â
Sophomore Jacob Nacional (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook) and senior Jay Jenkins (Aurora, Ill.-West Aurora) bring in two top-15 marks each. Nacional sits seventh in the 200 fly and 13th in the 1650 free, while Jenkins brings in the 11th-best time in the 100 and 200 back.
Sophomore Ben Huk (Des Plaines, Ill.-Maine West) rounds out the top-15 times, as he is 15th in the 200 breast.Â
At the 2025 CCIW Championships Porter, then-freshman Isabella Cano (River Grove, Ill.-East Leyden), and Kuschewski all earned All-CCIW honors over the course of the week. Porter claimed her second straight championship in the 1650 free, becoming the first Titan since Meg Stanley to win the long distance event in back-to-back years. Porter also notched All-CCIW honors in the 500 free behind a second-place time. Cano earned all-conference honors in the 100 fly behind a third-place finish. Kuschewski finished runner-up in the 100 back to earn All-CCIW honors in the event for the third straight season.
