D3hoops Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Sophomore Noah Cleveland (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week Tuesday morning, Jan. 6, for his effort in Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball's four-game win streak, Dec. 18-Jan. 3. It is the second national weekly honor of his career. He is the first multi-recipient since Matthew Leritz was a three-time pick in 2022.

Overall, Cleveland is the ninth Titan to reel in national team status and marks IWU's 14th all-time selection. He joins Leritz and Korey Coon as Illinois Wesleyan's only student-athletes to garner the honor multiple times in a career.

Cleveland turned in a great winter break for the Titans, leading Illinois Wesleyan to four straight wins. He averaged 21.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game over the four-game stint. The sophomore shot 59.3 percent from the field (32-of-54) and went 4-for-9 from three-point range.

He opened the stretch with a 36-point, 12-rebound effort at No. 4 WashU, Dec. 18. His 36-point performance is the most by a Titan since Bryce Dolan put up 37 against Ohio Wesleyan Nov. 18, 2015.

In a highly-anticipated game at Yeshiva, Dec. 29, Cleveland tallied a 12-point, 16-rebound double-double to lead IWU to a 72-71 triumph on the road. He followed that with a 22-point, 14-rebound showing against Hamilton, Dec. 31.

The sophomore closed out the stretch with 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and a steal against Carroll, Jan. 3, to earn IWU a much-needed league win. Cleveland scored 13 of his points in the second half and seven points in the final three and a half minutes to power Illinois Wesleyan past the Pioneers, 72-68.

Cleveland and IWU host Augustana College Wednesday night, Jan. 7, for a 7 p.m. tipoff in the Shirk Center.
