Track and Field Heads to Aurora Grand Prix

Titans claimed 10 individual events at Coach Shoe Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams hit the road for the first time in the 2025-26 campaign, as the Titans travel to Chicago, Ill. for the Aurora Grand Prix. Running events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at the Gately Indoor Track & Field. 

Three Titans currently sit in the top-15 in Division III in four events. Freshman Gwendolyn Boettinger (Hickory Hills, Ill.-Stagg), the reigning College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Field Athlete of the Week, ranks eighth in the country in the high jump after clearing a height of 5'5" and earning her first career victory at the Coach Shoe Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 17. 

Senior Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community), a three-time First Team All-American in the 400m, sits 14th in the nation in the event. Junior Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) holds the best triple jump mark in Division III this season, as well as the 12th-best jump in long jump. 

Also at the Coach Shoe Invitational, 10 Titans earned individual victories. Senior Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) took top honors in the nontraditional 1200m race. Fellow senior Zach Marquardt (Minneapolis, Minn.-Washburn) won the men's mile race for the second consecutive meet with a time of 4:31.83. Sophomore Jacob Pinkston (Tinley Park, Ill.-Lincoln-Way East) earned his first victory of the season in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 1:59.02.

In the men's 60m hurdle race, sophomore Kamden Reynolds (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) claimed the top spot for the second straight meet. Freshman Cameron Rask (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) ran a personal-best 23.11 to earn a victory in the men's 200m. 

In field events, junior Carson Green (Centralia, Ill.-Centralia) leaped an indoor career-best 6.85m in the long jump. Ogunribido continued her perfect season in the triple jump event, claiming victory with a jump of 12.06m. Sophomore Sophia Baczak (Aurora, Ill.-Oswego East) cleared a height of 2.82m in the women's pole vault to earn a win, while junior Lauryn Moore (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook) threw the shot put a season-best 10.97m to notch her first victory of the year.
