KENOSHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team competed against its College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foes to open the season in the CCIW Invitational.

At No. 4 singles, freshman Will Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill. - Glenwood) went 1-1 on the day. He dropped his opening round match to North Central's Rafeal Misquel Isern, 6-1, 6-2. Ehrlich bounced back for his first collegiate win with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 back draw victory over David Eman of Carroll. Ehrlich will open tomorrow in the fifth-place match against Matt Crossoland (North Central). 

In the seventh singles flight, freshman Truman Raher (Peoria, Ill. - Richwoods) defeated Carson Leighton (Carroll) 6-4, 3-6, 10-3 in his first round robin match. He begins tomorrow against Carthage's Diego Alvarez.


In doubles action, Raher and sophomore Aidan Mulcahey (Pekin, Ill. - Pekin Community) defeated Ian Saner and Aidan Friedman of Carthage, 8-6 in the first match of the No 4. doubles round robin. 

The Titans resume action tomorrow morning. Results will be posted on iwusports.com upon the completion of the match.
