BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team opens its 2025 fall slate at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Invitational Saturday-Sunday September 6-7. The tournament will be hosted by Carthage College at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Head Coach Sam Totten returns for his eighth season at the helm. He brings back six letter winners who finished 5-14 in 2024-25.

Among the returners is three-time All-CCIW selectee, senior Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill. - Bloomington), who earned second-team honors for the third straight season. The co-captain and two-time team MVP posted a record of 9-9 in singles and 8-10 in doubles.

Last season in the CCIW Invitational, then-junior Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy) finished in sixth place, playing on the second singles flight. Then-sophomore Chase Tomecki (Downers Grove, Ill.-Downers Grove South) and then-junior Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) faced off in the third place match in the sixth singles flight.

The Titans welcome four new faces that will wear the Green and White. Freshmen Jesus Avalos (Peoria, Ill. - Richwoods), Will Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill. - Glenwood) and Truman Raher Klein (Peoria, Ill. - Richwoods) will all make their collegiate debut. IWU also welcomes sophomore transfer Aidan Mulcahey (Pekin, Ill. - Pekin Community).

Results will be posted on iwusports.com upon the completion of the match.
