CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer sophomore Keira Robinson (Bloomington, Ind.-Bloomington South) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday, Sept. 30. It is the first weekly honor of her career.

Robinson scored four goals in three games for Illinois Wesleyan this week. In the Titans' 4-1 win over Knox College Wednesday, Sept. 24, Robinson scored IWU's first two goals, both coming in the first period. Robinson booted one in from 15 yards out to put the Titans up 1-nil in the third minute of the game before capitalizing on an assist from fellow sophomore Ellen Dahlquist in the 23rd minute, giving IWU a 2-1 advantage in the first period on its way to victory.

On Saturday, Sept. 27 against University of Wisconsin-Platteville, the Bloomington, Ind. product again recorded a multi-score game after two goals in the second period. Trailing 3-1 at the start of the second half, Robinson found the back of the net on a penalty kick in the 69th minute. The sophomore then scored again in the 78th minute on an assist from Dahlquist to tie up the game, 3-3, as IWU and UW-Platteville ended in a draw.

It is the first time a Titan has scored multiple goals in back-to-back games since current assistant coach Caelyn Bieterman (nee Steffens) did so in 2022. After four scores this week, Robinson is up to five on the season, which vaults her into a tie for the second-most goals scored in the CCIW this season.

Robinson and the Titans enjoy the week off before traveling to Kenosha, Wis. Saturday, Oct. 4 to begin conference play against Carthage College. Match time is set for 4 p.m.
