Wiley Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region VIII Team

First IWU selection since 2022

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Sophomore Liza Wiley (Bloomington, Ind-Home School) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team took home accolades from the United Soccer Coaches earning her position on the All-Region VIII Third Team.

Wiley posted a successful sophomore campaign totaling a team high 21 points via seven goals and seven assists. Wiley tallied four points in a match twice this season, recording a brace against Augustana College and a goal with two assists against Monmouth College. The midfielder recorded the first 20 point season of her career after totaling 19 points a season ago. 

In the program's history, Wiley is the 50th selection to the All-Region Team, and the first since 2022 when Caelyn Steffens and Lauren Shanks took home first team accolades, while Rachel White landed on the second team.  

Wiley helped the Titans to a nine win season and a trip to the semifinal of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament.
