NAPERVILLE, Ill.- After a pair of shutouts last week, Illinois Wesleyan University men's soccer senior goalkeeper
Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary-Grove) took home College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday Sept. 30. Kedzior ushered IWU to a 2-0 week with a 3-nil win at Eureka College Wednesday, Sept. 24, and a 4-nil victory over Wabash College Saturday, Sept. 27.
Between the pipes, Kedzior recorded his best week of the season. In two matches, he endured 25 shots stopping all nine on net. Evading pressure, Kedzior made save after save including a diving stop against Wabash in a 1-nil match which led to a Titan goal on the ensuing possession.
The now-five time winner of the award, last receiving it Nov. 10 2025, Kedzior has lowered his GA/AVG on the year to 0.79. Kedzior and the Titan defense have shutout opponents in three out of the last five matches.
The Green and White put its 6-1-2 record to the test Saturday Sept. 29 as it opens CCIW play against Carthage College. Kickoff at Art Kellar Field is set for 7 p.m.
