GREENWOOD, Ind. - Illinois Wesleyan University was well-represented on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team released Tuesday, June 17, as the Titans put six on the squad. Men's golfers Quinn Clifford (Chicago, Ill.-Brother Rice), Griffin Pohl (Western Springs, Ill.-Lyons Township), and Juney Bai (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) alongside men's lacrosse student-athletes Billy McHugh (Orland Park, Ill.-Mount Carmel), Sam Skelton (Portland, Ore.-Franklin), and Sam Weinberg (Highwood, Ill.-Oak Park River Forest) represented the Green and White. All six advance to the ballot for Academic All-America, while IWU's six selections tied for the most nationally.

Clifford, a two-time CSC Academic All-America selection, closed out his career with All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin status. The Chicago, Ill. native finished the season ranked 43rd nationally, averaging a score of 71.7 over 11 rounds. He posted one win and two top-three finishes, while wrapping up all-region accolades. Clifford won the Take Back the Night Challenge with a score of seven-under. His five top-10 placements included a fifth-place finish at the CCIW Championship, earning him all-league honors for the third straight season.

The CCIW Men's Golfer of the Year, Pohl reels in Academic All-District recognition for the second consecutive year. Slotted the 13th-best golfer in Division III according to Clippd rankings, Pohl posted an average of 71.0 strokes per round over 11 tournaments. He notched one win and four top-three finishes, while posting IWU's top finish at the NCAA Championship. Pohl's victory came at the Wabash College Fall Invitational, where he topped the 84-player field, while he claimed runner-up at the CCIW Championship. The senior snagged seventh-place at the national championship, earning All-American status, as he finished in the top-10 six times throughout the season.

Another key piece to IWU's second-place finish at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship, Bai repeats as a CSC Academic All-District selection. With a scoring average of 72.2 strokes per round, Bai is slotted 45th nationally. He recorded one win and registered two top-three finishes. An All-CCIW and all-region awardee, Bai won the Jekyll Island Individual Tournament and placed 29th at the NCAA Division III Championship.

McHugh earns his first Academic All-District nod after coming in as a junior transfer and having an immediate impact for the Green and White. The defender earned First Team All-CCIW honors after helping the team to CCIW Regular Season and Tournament titles and an NCAA Tournament Second Round appearance. McHugh's relentless defense saw him rack up 22 caused turnovers, a mark that ranks ninth in program history in a single season, and 40 ground balls. He also scored 13 points on 10 goals and three assists. He was honored as a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Blatant Division III All-American Honorable Mention back in May.

Skelton also earns his first Academic All-District honor. The senior captain played in all 17 games, totaling a team-high 29 caused turnovers and racking up 50 ground balls. The two-time All-CCIW First Team selection scored four goals and had two assists on the year. Skelton caps off his collegiate career ranking fourth in program history with 70 career caused turnovers and ranks fourth in single-season caused turnovers (30).

Weinberg picks up his second Academic All-District distinction after earning the honor a season ago. The senior played in 14 games and had the third-most goals on the team with 29, alongside 11 assists for 40 points. He led the team with six man-up goals while also recording 34 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers this season. A two-time All-CCIW Second Team honoree, Weinberg caps off his collegiate career ranking fifth in program history with 20 career man-up goals.
