Baseball Garners Three All-Region Honors

Gadomski named to second team, Pullam earns third team accolade

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team landed two student-athletes on the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region 8 Team, and one on the D3baseball.com All-Region 8 Team, announced by the organizations Tuesday, May 27. 

Senior Justin Gadomski (Schaumburg, Ill.-Schaumburg) earned Second Team All-Region honors from both organizations, marking the first regional awards of his career. Junior Jake Pullam (Palatine, Ill.-Palatine) also snagged the first honor of his career, as he was named to ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-Region 8. 

The everyday starter at shortstop for the Green and White, Gadomski led the nation with 26 doubles, setting a new single-season program record, while his 0.59 double per game ranks fourth. The senior led the team with 74 hits, 44 runs scored, and finished third on the team with 40 RBIs, while his six homeruns tied for the team lead, doing so on a .381 batting average. Gadomski finished the season with a .629 slugging percentage after totaling 122 bases. In both his seasons playing for the Titans, Gadomski earned First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors. 

A First Team All-CCIW honoree, Pullam put together a strong season on the mound for Illinois Wesleyan. Totaling 57.2 innings of work, Pullam led the team with an earned run average of 2.65 en route to a 7-0 record on the bump. The Palatine, Ill. native faced 206 batters, striking out 53, and limiting opponents to a .223 batting average.

The all-region accolades mark the first for head coach Michael Kellar, who guided the Titans to a CCIW Regular Season Championship and a 28-15 record.
