ABCA/Rawlings Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University baseball's Jack Novak (Mokena, Ill.-Lincoln-Way Central) and AJ Weller (Geneseo, Ill.-Geneseo) were named to the  D3baseball.com All-Region 8 Team and the ABCA/Rawlings Division III All-Region teams, announced by the organizations Tuesday, May 26. It is the first regional honor of the Novak's career, as he was named a first team selection by D3baseball.com and a second team honoree by ABCA/Rawlings. The sophomore, Weller, earned the first regional distinction of his career as well, landing on the ABCA/Rawling Region VIII Third Team. 

Novak was a First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree, starting in 25 games for the Titans in his junior campaign. The first-year starter burst onto the scene in his third year, leading the team with a .473 average. His .725 slugging percentage also led the team, adding 43 hits, 27 runs, and seven doubles in 91 total at-bats. Novak is the first first team honoree since Nick Figus landed the accolade from D3baseball.com at the conclusion of the 2019 season. 

Weller spent his first season with the Titans at the top of most statistical categories. The sophomore led the team with 173 at-bats, including an impressive six triples. With a slugging percentage of .590, Weller narrowly trailed teammate Novak for the team lead. He played in 40 games for the Green and White, tallying a team-high 66 hits and scoring 38 runs. The Geneseo, Ill. native was a Second Team All-CCIW honore and earned CCIW Hitter of the Week twice throughout the season. 

The D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings All-American teams are set to be released Thursday, May 28.
