GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's tennis teams landed six Titans on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District lists, announced by the organization Tuesday, May 13. The men's team saw four Titans hearn the accolade, while the women's team reeled in two awards.

On the men's side, juniors Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy) and Griffin Hammond (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township), and sophomores Thad Dillow (Effingham, Ill.-Effingham) and Chase Tomecki (Downers Grove, Ill.-Downers Grove South) earned the honor. Senior Kate Christian (Washington, Ill.-Washington Community) and sophomore Amber Ehrlich (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) represented the women's team. Vigneri, Hammond, and Christian all earn the accolade for the second time in their careers, while Dillow, Tomecki, and Ehrlich receive it in their first year eligible for nomination.

In order to receive the honor, a student-athlete must hold at least a 3.50 GPA and be in their second year of school, as well as be in the lineup for 70 percent of the competitions, excluding regional competitions such as ITA, throughout the year.

Vigneri, a kinesiology and allied health major, manned the No. 2 singles spot, and primarily paired up with Ian Turnbull at No. 1 doubles, throughout the season for the Green and White. Serving as a co-captain with Turnbull, Vigneri posted a 11-12 overall record in singles action, and was 10-12 overall in doubles play. He was named the team's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Most Valuable Player after putting on a battle against Carthage in the conference tournament quarterfinals contest.

Playing primarily at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles, mostly alongside Tomecki, Hammond appeared in all 18 matches for the Titans this season. He notched an 8-13 record in singles play, and posted a 6-14 record in doubles. Hammond is majoring in environmental science.

Dillow, a finance major, appeared in all 18 dual matches and one tournament for the Green and White. Playing all but two matches at No. 4 singles, Dillow compiled an overall record of 8-13 in individual play. Primarily playing alongside Ryan McCoy at No. 2 doubles, Dillow finished with a record of 5-16 in paired play this season.

Majoring in biology, Tomecki broke into the IWU starting lineup for his sophomore campaign. Spending most of his time in the No. 6 singles spot and playing alongside Hammond at No. 3 doubles for the majority of the season, Tomecki appeared in all but one dual match for the Titans during 2024-25. He finished with a 5-15 mark in singles action, and went 6-16 in doubles competition.

In her final season for Illinois Wesleyan, Christian picked up her second CSC Academic All-District award, as she graduates with a degree in sociology and a minor in psychology. A co-captain of the team, Christian appeared in 16 dual matches over the year, she split her time between No. 4 and 5 singles, totaling an overall record of 7-8. With a good chunk of the season pairing up with Gabi Lipske at No. 2 doubles, Christian also posted a record of 7-8 in doubles action.

A finance major, Ehrlich has been the Titans' top player since her arrival on campus a season ago. The Springfield, Ill. native served as a co-captain this season, and earned her second straight Second Team All-CCIW honor after playing in all 20 dual matches and one tournament. Ehrlich went 9-12 in singles play, including a 3-5 mark in the rigorous CCIW contests in the top singles spot. With all matches played in the No. 1 doubles spot, Ehrlich paired up with partner Olivia Bell for all but one paired contest. She recorded an overall record of 13-8 on the season in doubles action.

Five of the six recipients are set to return for Illinois Wesleyan in the 2025-26 season.
