Men’s Tennis Concludes Season in CCIW Tournament Quarterfinals

Titans fall 4-0 to Firebirds

STERLING, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team concluded its season in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament Quarterfinals, falling 4-0 to Carthage College Thursday, May 1. With the loss, IWU ends its season with an overall record of 5-14, while Carthage improves to 18-6 overall and will face the winner of Augustana College and Millikin University tomorrow.

The Green and White dropped the one-point decision in doubles play. Juniors Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) and Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy) were up 4-3 at No. 1 doubles when the match was abandoned. Illinois Wesleyan was shut out in singles action, ultimately falling 4-0.

The loss marks the end of fifth-year Ryan McCoy's time donning the Green and White. Head Coach Sam Totten is set to return six Titans for the 2025-26 season.
