Brownsburg, Ind.- Freshman Umar Bajwa (Wheaton, Ill.-St. Francis) of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team went 1-1 on day three of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Sunday, Oct. 4 in Brownsburg, Ind.

In the consolation quarterfinals, Bajwa defeated Ned Curley of Hope College via a walkover. In the consolation semifinals against Kalamazoo's Alex Fleming, Bajwa dropped the first set 6-2, but came back with a 6-2 set two win to force a third-set tiebreak in which he fell 10-1.

Bajwa's run marks the second straight season that IWU has had a student-athlete make it to the consolation semifinals or farther at the ITA Regional. A season ago, then-seniors Griffin Hammond and Ian Turnbull made it to the doubles backdraw championship.

This marks the conclusion of the fall season for the Titans who will begin their spring season in February.
