NAPERVILLE, Ill. - After a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin sweep of Elmhurst University over the weekend, Illinois Wesleyan University baseball sophomore John Philip Ferraro (Oak Park, Ill.-Oak Park River Forest) received CCIW Hitter of the Week honors Monday afternoon, April 7. It is the first weekly award of Ferraro's career, and the first for the Titans this season. 

Ferraro had a lead role in the series sweep against Elmhurst this past weekend, along with a single game against Millikin last Thursday. In five Titan wins, the sophomore had a one two-bagger and ripped three home runs. 

Going 9-for-17 on the week, Ferraro started in four of five games and notched a slugging percentage of 1.118. The sophomore garnered 10 RBIs and five runs to end the week on a high note. 

Ferraro hit a home run in three of the four games he played in, starting off with a two-run slugger at Millikin in the top of the first, powered one past right field to tack on an insurance run in game one against EU, and then homered a three-run homer to right field to take the lead in game two against Elmhurst. 

The Titans are back in CCIW action Tuesday, April 8, as they host North Central College. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
