BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team welcomes Augustana College to Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill. for a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin contest Sunday, April 27. Action is set to begin at 10 a.m., and will be the final regular season match for the Green and White.

The Titans enter the contest with an overall record of 5-12, and bear a 1-5 CCIW record. Most recently falling 7-0 to North Central College Saturday, April 19, IWU looks to get back in the win column. Junior Ben Vigneri (Casper, Wyo.-Phillips Exeter Academy) posted the closest contest for the Green and White. At No. 2 singles, Vigneri took the opening set behind a tiebreaker. Winning it 7-6, the junior needed extra time to take the tiebreaker 9-7. After falling in the second set, 6-1, the Casper, Wyo. native battled in the super tiebreaker, but was upended, 11-9.

IWU and Augie will meet for the 39th time since 1990, with the Vikings owning a 29-9 edge in the series. The two teams last met in the CCIW Tournament Quarterfinals a season ago, with Illinois Wesleyan falling 5-0 May 2, 2025. The match will see head coach Sam Totten take on his alma mater. Totten was a standout player for the Vikings, playing there from August 2014 until his graduation in May 2018. In his four years, Totten was named to the All-CCIW team all four years, making the first team three times, and was named the CCIW Man of the Year in his final season in 2018. Augustana comes to town with a 10-4 record, and is 3-1 in conference play. The Vikings will make a stop at Millikin University Saturday, April 26, before making the trek to Bloomington.

Results will be posted on iwusports.com upon the completion of the match.
