KENOSHA, Wis. - The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swim and dive teams competed in two events to kick off the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Swim and Dive Championships Wednesday, Feb. 19. Freshman diver Sarah Worsley (Shorewood, Ill.-Joliet West) competed on the one-meter dive with both men's and the women's squads competing in the 800-yard freestyle relay.

Worsley started off the day with a stellar performance on the one-meter dive. Worsley finished with a score of 283.50, which was good for a sixth place finish on the podium. Her seventh dive was the highlight of her competition and produced one of her best scores of the day, completing a reverse one somersault tuck. Worsley finished just 13 points shy of her personal best, where she dove a 296.15 against Franklin College earlier this season.

The Titan swimmers finished off the day with two events, starting at 7 p.m. The men and the women competed in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Junior Natalie Porter (Danville, Ill.-Danville) and senior Alexa Starkey (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community West) teamed up with sophomore Sam Borre (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) and freshman Julia Jozwiak (Mchenry, Ill.-Wauconda) to finish in fourth place, timing in at 8:02.69. The men also placed fourth with seniors Carter Dilger (Sellersburg, Ind.-Jeffersonville) and Colin McKibben (Green Oaks, Ill.-Libertyville), along with freshmen Jacob Nacional (Bolingbrook, Ill.-Bolingbrook) and Tate Thomas (Joliet, Ill.-Joliet West). The quartet timed in with a 7:17.40.

The Titans are back in action tomorrow in the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex for day two of the CCIW Championships. Preliminaries start at 10:20 a.m. with finals starting at 6 p.m. You can watch a live stream or view live stats by going to CCIW.org under the championships home page.
