Cleveland Collects CCIW Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore Noah Cleveland (Normal, Ill.-Normal Community) reeled in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week honors Monday, Nov. 24. It is the first weekly award of his career and comes one week after he was named to the national team of the week.


Cleveland led the Titans to a 3-0 week that included a ranked win and a second tournament title. He averaged 14.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest, while adding five blocks, two steals, and two assists. Cleveland shot 64.5 percent from the field, going 20-of-31, as the Titans improved to 5-0. 

In a 72-69 triumph over No. 11 Chicago, Cleveland posted 14 points and eight rebounds on 7-of-11 shooting. He followed that with nine points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes as IWU throttled Wisconsin Lutheran, 97-42. Cleveland wrapped up the weekend with a career performance that saw the sophomore go for 20 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocks in just 23 minutes of action in a win over Kenyon. Cleveland was named to the Mike Turner Classic All-Tournament team after leading IWU to the in-season tournament title.

Illinois Wesleyan returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 29, with a 12 p.m. bout with University of Wisconsin-Stout inside the Shirk Center.
