CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The final College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Volleyball Player of the Week honors of the season were released Tuesday, Nov. 11, by the league office. Illinois Wesleyan senior Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East) earned the CCIW Hitter of the Week accolade for the fifth time this season, and the 14th of her decorated career.

A day removed from earning the third straight CCIW Offensive Player of the Year honor of her career, becoming the first student-athlete in CCIW women's volleyball history to earn a specialty award three times, French closes out the regular season with another award etched into her long resume.

The Romeoville, Ill. native makes it 14 weekly honors for the Green and White this season. French earns the fifth accolade of the season (Sept. 8, Sept. 12, Oct. 13, and Nov. 3), as it marks the seventh hitter of the week honor for IWU this year. Joining French on IWU's weekly accolades list are Alex Bardouniotis (hitter, Oct. 6 and Oct. 27), Sophia Feeney (setter, Oct. 13 and Nov. 3), Kannyn Boyd (defensive, Sept. 2 and Nov. 3), Hannah Tellor (defensive, Oct. 20), Eleanor Palmer (defensive, Oct. 6), and Alysa Lawton (defensive, Sept. 8).

In a clean sweep of CCIW foe Augustana College, closing out the Titans' second straight perfect conference regular season record, French and the offense put on a show for the home crowd. The Green and White established a new program record, as the offense erupted for a .521 attack percentage. French led the way with 15 kills, committing just two errors on 24 swings, as she finished with a dominant .542 clip individually. The senior also posted a team-high 16 digs to close out a double-double performance, and added two assists and an ace.

French and the Titans await the winner of the CCIW Quarterfinal match between No. 4 Wheaton College and No. 5 Carroll University Tuesday, Nov. 11. IWU will host the winner for a CCIW Tournament Semifinal match Thursday night, Nov. 13. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m. inside Shirk Center.
