BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team heads into postseason play as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Quarterfinals run through Bloomington, Ill. Saturday, Nov. 1. Fourth-seeded IWU will play host to No. 5 Wheaton College at Neis Field with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m.

The Titans added three players to the list of All-CCIW honorees, announced by the league office Friday, Oct. 31. Sophomore Liza Wiley (Bloomington, Ind.-Home School) landed on the first team after claiming second team distinction last season. Junior Ava Mapes (Golden, Colo.-Lakewood) and senior Bree Cordray (Bloomington, Ill.-University High) earned second team status, the first conference honor in either of their careers.

Illinois Wesleyan ended the regular season slate 9-7-2 and 4-3-1 in league play, its best record since 2022. The Titans earned home turf advantage in the CCIW Quarterfinals by way of a 1-nil win over Millikin in the regular season finale Wednesday, Oct. 29. Sophomore Keira Robinson (Bloomington, Ind.-Bloomington South) scored the lone goal of the game in the first period, off of an assist from freshman Hannah Henry (Neenah, Wis.-Neenah). The Titan defense recorded their fourth shutout in league play, the second-most by any team in the CCIW.

Wheaton most recently dropped its final regular season contest to No. 1 seed North Central,2-0, Wednesday, Oct. 29, ending CCIW play 3-2-3. The Thunder defense has been their key asset this season, allowing the fourth-fewest goals in league play, giving up 11 scores in eight games. Freshman goalkeeper Leah Roe has been a stalwart for Wheaton between the pipes, recording the fourth-best save percentage in league play.

In an uneventful regular season meeting, the Thunder and Titans fought to a scoreless draw Wednesday, Oct. 8 in Wheaton, Ill. Sophomore goalkeeper Vanessa Gray (Burlington, Ontario, Canada-Dr. Frank J. Hayden) posted five saves in the contest, as the IWU defense limited the Thunder to six shots on target.

Wheaton leads the all-time series against the Titans 32-6-6. The two teams have a storied conference tournament history, meeting 14 times since 2002. The Thunder lead 10-4 all-time in the postseason, with six games being decided by overtime and four by penalty kicks.
