BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball's sophomore guard Josh Fridman (Northbrook, Ill.- Glenbrook North) was recognized on the D3hoops.com Preseason All-American team released Thursday, Oct. 30. Fridman was voted to the fifth team as a total of four College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin student-athletes were listed.

Fridman, the reigning D3hoops Rookie of the Year, garnered a spot on the fifth team alongside North Park's Kolden Vanlandingham and Wheaton's Soren Richardson. Carthage's Ryan Johnson represented the league on the first team. Fridman is the sixth Titan to reel in the preseason honor since D3hoops began announcing them in 2010. He joins Nick Roper (third team - 2024), Luke Yoder (fifth team - 2023), Matthew Leritz (second team - 2021), Andrew Ziemnik (third team - 2013), and Doug Sexauer (third team - 2010), while he is the first underclassmen to land on the preseason All-American teams.

A season ago, the point guard was voted the CCIW Newcomer of the Year as well as the D3hoops Region 8 Rookie of the Year.

In his first season donning the Green and White, Fridman worked his way into the lineup as the team's starting point guard. He averaged 9.2 points per game and dished out 76 assists against just 41 turnovers. Fridman shot 40.4 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three-point range. Fridman led the team with a free throw percentage of 88.0. He scored a career-high 24 points in IWU's CCIW Tournament semifinal win over Augustana, Feb. 28, aided by a career-best six three-pointers.

Fridman and the Titans begin the 2025-26 season Friday, Nov. 14, against Illinois College as part of the Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational.
