Sixth Titan to earn preseason praise

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball senior Ava Bardic (Lincolnshire, Ill.-Stevenson) was listed as a Second Team D3hoops.com All-American as the organization announced Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Bardic was one of two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin student-athletes included in the release, with Carroll's Natalie Gricius grabbing third team status. Bardic joins Lauren Huber (fourth team 2025 & honorable mention 2024), Molly McGraw (honorable mention 2017), Melissa Gardner (fourth team 2012), and Hope Schulte (honorable mention 2010) as IWU's previous preseason All-American picks since 2010, while she is the first to be named to one of the top-three teams.

A returning First Team All-CCIW pick, Bardic started all 30 games for the Titans while tying for the team-high with 15.0 points per game. The Lincolnshire, Ill. native connected on 46.2 percent of her shots, including 35.5 percent of her three-pointers. Bardic's 60 three-pointers were second-most on the team. She added 71 steals, finishing second on the squad, while pacing the team with 16 rejections. Bardic dished out 73 assists and pulled in 84 rebounds.

Bardic and the Titans begin the season Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. against Trinity University (Texas) as the opening game of the Champions Classic inside the Shirk Center.
