NAPERVILLE, Ill. - A stat-stuffing week saw Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball senior Mallory Powers (Amboy, Ill.-Amboy) haul in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week status Monday afternoon, Jan. 27. It is the second weekly award for Powers, who led the No. 2 Titans to a 2-0 week and their best start to the season since the 2009-10 season.

Powers was tremendous for Illinois Wesleyan, Jan. 22-25, as the Titans ran their record to 18-0 on the year and 9-0 in CCIW play. She averaged 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game over the two-game stretch. She put up monster numbers behind incredibly efficient shooting as the Amboy, Ill. native connected on 13-of-21 shot attempts, good for a 61.9 clip. She was even better from beyond the arc, going 8-for-12 (66.7 percent), and finished 4-for-5 at the free throw line.

She began the week with a career-high 21 points at Millikin, Jan. 22, to lead IWU to a rivalry win, 81-60. Powers pulled in a game-high 10 rebounds in the contest to secure the fifth double-double of her career, while also pacing the team with six assists and three steals. The senior guard finished the week with 17 points, six boards, seven assists, two steals, and a block in a 93-57 win over Wheaton, Jan. 25. Powers tied a career-high as she hit five three-pointers in the win over the Thunder, while playing just 28 minutes.

Powers and the Titans are back in action Saturday, Feb. 1, with a road game at Elmhurst University. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside R.A. Faganel Hall and will serve as the first part of a double feature with the IWU men's basketball team.
