Swim and Dive Travels to Compete in Dual Against Rose-Hulman

Meet starts at 1 p.m. ET

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.  - Diving into the new year, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swim and dive teams travel to Terre Haute, Ind., Saturday, Jan. 11 to compete against the Fightin' Engineers of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The dual will start at 1 p.m. ET at the Rose-Hulman Natatorium. 

The Titans finished the 2024 portion of their schedule at the Carthage Classic, Dec. 5-7. Junior Natalie Porter (Danville, Ill.-Danville) placed second overall in the women's 1650-yard freestyle. The Danville, Ill. native saw a time of 18:22.90, slicing 22.32 seconds off her previous time this season. The women compiled a total of 312 points, with the men garnering 143 points to place 6th and 7th in the meet, respectively. 

The Engineers last competed Dec. 5-7 at the Wooster Classic, in Ohio. RHIT saw a first-place finish on the men's side, while the women took sixth. Prior to meeting the Titans on Saturday, Rose-Hulman will compete against Divison I Valparaiso University Friday, Jan. 10.

IWU and RHIT are friendly foes, competing almost every year since the 2008 season. The women hold a perfect 13-0 record against the Engineers while the men trail 0-12 to Rose-Hulman. At last year's meeting, then-sophomore Kayleigh Kuschewski (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia) placed first in all three of her events, the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard backstroke, and 200-yard individual medley.
