First of his career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Junior Logan Tierney (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) earned the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week award of his career Tuesday, Sept. 10, as the league office announced its weekly honorees. It is the first conference award of the year for the Titans.

Tierney was an integral part of the Titan offense in Sunday's 5-0 win against Blackburn. The Bloomington, Ill. native scored two goals and tallied one assist to end the game with five points.

With a 1-nil lead, Tierney saw his opportunity to score off of a free kick from senior Declan Nugent (Naperville, Ill.-Neuqua Valley). With a 25-yard boot from Nugent, Tierney took a diving header to score the first goal of his career. His lone assist came from sophomore Ryder Coleman (Bannockburn, Ill.-Deerfield) only three minutes later, which gave Coleman his first career goal as well.

Tierney did not stop there as he inflated the Green and White's lead right before the half with a shot straight to the top right corner to lead us to 4-nil going into the second half. IWU blanked the Beavers, 5-0, and also took down Eureka College earlier in the week with a 1-nil win.

The Titans will return home this Friday, Sept. 13 for a non-conference matchup against Rockford University. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
