Turnbull Named Second Team All-CCIW

Earns honor for second straight season

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - For the second straight season, sophomore Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) was named to the Second Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin team, announced by the league office Wednesday, May 1. Freshman Chase Tomecki (Downers Grove, Ill.-Downers Grove South) was the recipient of IWU's CCIW RESPECT award.

Playing at the top spot in both singles and doubles, Turnbull turned in another good year for the Green and White. In singles action, the sophomore posted a 3-5 record in CCIW play, with wins over Elmhurst, Millikin, and Wheaton.

Alongside senior Ryan McCoy (Arlington Heights, Ill.-Rolling Meadows) at No. 1 doubles, the duo went 2-6 in league play. The pair defeated Millikin and Elmhurst amid a rigorous conference lineup in the top spot.

During the course of the 2023-24 season, Turnbull was twice named CCIW Player of the Week, earning the honor Feb. 20 and April 2.

Turnbull and the Titans return to action Thursday, May 2. IWU will face Augustana in the CCIW Tournament Quarterfinals, hosted by Carroll University, at 3:30 p.m.
