Turnbull Named Men’s Tennis CCIW Co-Player of the Week

Second Weekly Award of the sophomore’s career

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - For the second time this season, and the second time in his career, sophomore Ian Turnbull (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Co-Player of the Week Tuesday, April 2.

The sophomore shared the weekly honor with Matt Sengphommachanh from North Central College. It is the second weekly award of his career, and the second of the season, as he earned the accolade Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Turnbull played a key role in the sweep of Elmhurst University Saturday, March 30. He picked up 6-0 set wins at No. 1 singles, and secured the win at No. 1 doubles with Ryan McCoy, logging an 8-1 victory.

Turnbull and the Titans return to action Thursday, April 4, traveling to Millikin University for a CCIW contest. Action is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Fairview Park Tennis Complex.
