BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - After picking up its first win of the season Saturday, March 2, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team returns home to host DePauw University for a Wednesday night dual March 6. Action is set to begin at 6 p.m. inside Tucci Stadium.

The Titans (1-1) enter the contest off a 17-10 victory over Edgewood College Saturday, March 2. Sophomore Carleigh Fountain (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) led the game with a career-high seven goals, tying the program's single-game goals record. Senior Britney Maldonado (Hoffman Estates, Ill.-James B. Conant) also posted seven points, composed of three goals and four assists. Junior Bri Kiser (Crown Point, Ind.-Crown Point) notched her first career victory between the posts, making 13 saves on a .565 save percentage.

After a stellar opening week, Maldonado was honored as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday, March 5, earning the award for the second time in her career. Junior Mia Fiandaca (St. Charles, Ill.-St Charles North) joined Maldonado on the weekly award list, as she was honored as the CCIW Co-Defensive Player of the Week, marking the third weekly accolade of her career.

Maldonado leads the team with 16 points on six goals and a team-best 10 assists. Her 5.0 assists per game average ranks fifth nationally, while her 10 on the season and 8.0 points per game average both rank 13th across the nation. Fiandaca and Fountain are second on the team with eight points each, with both leading the team with eight goals apiece.

Having totaled 18 draw controls in the first two games, Fiandaca ranks 23rd nationally with 9.0 per game. Sophomore Devon Hanson's (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha) 10 are the second-most for the Green and White. Four Titans have totaled eight ground balls. Fiandaca's 6.0 caused turnovers per game is the fourth-best average in the country, as she's wreaked havoc on opponent's offenses with 12 caused turnovers through two games. Hanson is second with seven, while Maldonao's five caused turnovers rank third on the team.

Kiser has logged all 120:00 minutes between the iron, stopping 20 saves on a .426 save percentage.

The Titans will meet DePauw (1-0) for the sixth time in program history, with the series dating back to April 1, 2015. IWU holds a slim, 3-2, advantage in the series and has taken the last two meetings. Most recently, Illinois Wesleyan defeated the Tigers in Greencastle, Ind., 19-5, Feb. 26, 2019. Now-head coach Grainne Kelly posted five points on three goals and two assists for the Green and White.
