BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -
Junior Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) and sophomore Sawyer White (Downers Grove, Ill.-Montini Catholic) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team were named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Tuesday, March 26. Additionally, both Huber and White will advance to the Academic All-America ballot.

Huber and White were key pieces of an Illinois Wesleyan team that won a share of the CCIW Regular Season Championship, earned the No. 1 seed in the CCIW Tournament, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Garnering the award for the second time in her career, Huber led the team with 15.6 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per contest. She held a field goal percentage of 51.2 percent with a 45.5 three-point field goal percentage and a 78.8 clip from the free throw line. The Lombard, Ill. native was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, a D3hoops.com Preseason All-American, D3hoops.com First Team All-Region, First Team All-CCIW, and a WBCA All-American.

White, a first time CSC Academic All-District honoree, put together one of the best defensive campaigns seen in CCIW history. Playing in all 29 games and making 19 starts, White averaged 7.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 3.9 steals per game. White's 112 steals rank second-most in CCIW single-season history and are the most in league history since the 1999-00 season.

Huber and White will now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot and will look to join Lexi Baltes, Rebekah Ehresman, Kendall Sosa, and Terri Friedman (two-time selection) as IWU's all-time women's basketball selections to garner the distinguished honor. The CSC Academic All-America team will be announced Tuesday, April 16.
