ATLANTA - Postseason accolades continue to roll in for Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball junior Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) as the two-time team captain was recognized as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association named her an All-America Honorable Mention Wednesday morning, March 13. She is the first Titan to earn WBCA All-America honors since Kendall Sosa did so in 2021.

"We congratulate the members of the 2024 WBCA NCAA Division III Coaches' All-America team," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle M. Donehew. "These young women have worked to elevate their teams and themselves to an elite level of competition. Through their exceptional talents on the basketball court, they have also lifted the women's game."

Wednesday's announcement is just the latest in a long line of awards Huber has garnered following an exceptional 2023-24 campaign. The Lombard, Ill. native is one day removed from being recognized as First Team All-Region by D3hoops.com, reeling in all-region honors for the third straight season. She was named one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Josten's Trophy last week and finished second in the fan vote conducted by D3hoops.com.

A First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin pick, Huber was the team leader in both scoring and rebounding with 15.6 points per game and 8.1 boards per contest. She finished the season shooting 51.2 percent from the floor, 45.5 percent from three-point range, and 78.8 percent from the free throw line. Huber was named a Preseason All-American by D3hoops.com ahead of the season and was a D3hoops.com Team of the Week honoree back in November.

Huber, one of three CCIW student-athletes to garner All-America honors from the WBCA, helped lead the Titans to a CCIW Regular Season Co-Championship, NCAA Tournament berth, and run into the second round of the national tournament. IWU finished the season with a 23-6 overall record, including a 14-2 CCIW mark. Illinois Wesleyan posted its most wins since 2018-19.

The WBCA NCAA Division III Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Coaches' All-America team are selected by the WBCA NCAA Division III Awards Committee from coaches and student-athletes who are nominated by WBCA member coaches.
