BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan University women's basketball team saw two student-athletes named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 8 Team announced Tuesday, March 12. Junior Lauren Huber (Lombard, Ill.-Glenbard East) was a first team selection, while junior Mallory Powers (Amboy, Ill.-Amboy) received third team honors.

The First Team All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin duo guided the Titans to a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Regular Season Co-Championship, NCAA Tournament berth, and run into the second round of the national tournament.

Huber, who garners all-region honors for the third straight year, was a Preseason D3hoops All-American. She finished the season shooting 51.2 percent from the floor, 45.5 percent from three-point range, and 78.8 percent from the free throw line. The Lombard, Ill. native was a First Team All-CCIW selection for the third straight year, and was also named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week earlier in the season.

Powers pulls in D3hoops All-Region honors for the first time in her career following a breakthrough season. Starting every one of IWU's 29 games, Powers ranked second on the team in rebounding at 6.7 caroms per game. She was third on the team with 12.1 points per game. She dished out a team-high 88 assists to go along with 56 steals, good for second-most on the team, while tallying 10 blocks.

Powers scored a career-high-tying 20 points against WashU, Nov. 26, and then again in an overtime win at North Central, Dec. 9. She hauled in a career-high 19 rebounds against Millikin, Jan. 17, and dished out a career-best eight assists versus Elmhurst, Nov. 29. Powers also notched a career-high six steals at NCC. Powers posted two double-doubles on the season.
