NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced the recipients of the Academic All-Conference honors from the 2023 fall season, Friday, Feb. 3. A total of 95 Illinois Wesleyan student-athletes were recognized on the Dave Wrath Academic All-CCIW team, while senior men's soccer player Brody Seaton (Dunlap, Ill.-Peoria Notre Dame) and senior women's golfer Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.-Macomb) were named IWU's Jack Swartz Awardwinners. 

The CCIW Academic All-Conference list comprises those individuals that achieved an overall grade-point average of 3.30 or above and have served at least one year in residency at their respective school. 

Additionally, the CCIW announced all of the recipients of the Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award. Each CCIW member institution selects two student-athletes (one male & one female) from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) to be honored as Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference members. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.50 or above and have served at least one year in residency at their respective school.

Seaton, a Second Team All-CCIW selection, was a captain for the Titans this past season. Starting 16 games for the Green and White as a captain, Seaton scored three goals and finished the season with six points. The Dunlap, Ill. native helped guide the Titans to the program's first ever CCIW Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 2023. In the CCIW Tournament, Seaton scored an overtime goal against North Park in the semifinals. He went on to make his penalty kick attempt to send IWU to the title game, where he net the game-winner in the 88th minute to secure Illinois Wesleyan's first ever conference tournament championship.

In the midst of an outstanding senior season, Thorman turned in a sensational fall for the Titans. She played in five tournaments, posting four top-10 finishes, while posting two top-three placements. Thorman won the CCIW Championship with a career-best 54-hole total of 218 (74-74-70) to help lead Illinois Wesleyan to the conference title in record-breaking fashion. The Macomb, Ill. product guided IWU to its best single-round score with an even-par 284 on day one of the CCIW Championship in Peoria, Ill. Additionally, Thorman was named the conference's golfer of the week for the fourth time in her career and has propelled IWU to a top-15 national ranking.
