NAPERVILLE, Ill. –
The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams came away with six College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Champions on the final day of the CCIW Track and Field Championships in Naperville, Ill., Saturday, Feb. 24. Sophomores Adriana Crabtree (Normal, Ill.-University High) and Evan Lowder (Bloomington, Ill.-Normal Community) claimed two titles apiece.

The IWU men's team accrued 17 All-CCIW performances on its way to tie for second place with 115 points scored. The Titans share the runner-up spot with Carthage College while host institute North Central College won the meet with 165 points. On the women's side, 11 Titans achieved All-CCIW honors while totaling 87 points to place fourth overall. North Central College won the meet with 157.5 points while Elmhurst was second with 110.5 and Carthage was third with 87.5 points.

Crabtree successfully achieved the triple-crown this weekend as she was a part of Friday's champion distance-medley relay before posting event wins in the mile (5:10.97) and the 3,000-meter run (10:16.14) this afternoon. Her 3k time moves her into second all-time for IWU. Crabtree is only the second Titan in IWU history to become a champion in the 3k and its the fifth all-time to do so in the mile.

Lowder, the defending 400-meter champion from a season ago, becomes the first Titan in program history to sweep CCIW titles in the 400-meter (48.47) and 200-meter dashes (22.12). He claimed IWU's third-ever CCIW crown in the 200m, a feat that has not been done since Segun Olopo won the event in 2007 and 2008. Lowder's 400m time ranks 10th across Division III and sets a new school record as he becomes the fastest Titan to run the event since Matt Harden in 2007. After posting the top time in the 10th heat of the 200m, Lowder had to await his fate for the 11th heat before ultimately edging out Marcus Casselbury of North Central to claim the 200m crown. His 200m time ranks second in school history.

Freshman Imani Ogunribido (Hanover Park, Ill.-Lake Park) tied IWU's school record in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.07m (39'7.25") on her way to becoming a CCIW Champion. Ogunribido jumps to sixth in the nation. The freshman later went on to finish second in the 60-meter dash as she tied her personal best time of 7.84 seconds.

Freshman Adam Beasley (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) was the last man standing in the men's high jump as his 2.05m (6'8.75") clearance was good for the CCIW title, third in program history, and a top-10 spot nationally. He becomes only the second-ever CCIW Champion in the event since Eric Rydell's win in 2016. Fellow freshman high jumper Matt Lindberg (Springfield, Ill.-Glenwood) achieved a personal-best mark of 1.96m (6'5") to finish as the runner-up in the event and earn All-CCIW accolades.

Junior Sam Okewole (Tinley Park, Ill.-Tinley Park) achieved a career-best leap of 13.80m (45'3.50") to take second in the men's triple jump and ranks fifth in IWU laurels. Also earning a runner-up finish and All-CCIW honors in the triple jump was senior Lauren Wong (Morton, Ill.-Morton) on the women's side with an 11.52m (37'9.50") leap. Freshman Reece Dusek notched a second-place finish in the men's 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 49.73 seconds which moves him into the No. 4 spot all-time for IWU.

Sophomore Jahari Scott (Lake Bluff, Ill.-Lake Forest) finished third overall in the men's 60-meter dash in a time of 6.97 seconds. Also earning a third-place finish was junior Alex Harvey (Galesburg, Ill.-Galesburg) in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.56 seconds. Harvey would later team up with Dusek, freshman Tyrice Bender and junior Joel Weber (Roanoke, Ill.-Roanoke-Benson) for a runner-up finish and All-CCIW performance in the men's 4-by-400-meter relay (3:23.32).

IWU looks ahead to final qualifiers next week before the NCAA Division III Track and Field National Championships Mar. 8-9.
