CCIW Release

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -
Junior Nick Roper (St. Louis, Mo.-MICDS) of the Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team was selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 11, the league office announced Monday, Feb. 12. It is the second weekly award of the season for Roper, who previously earned the honor Jan. 15.

The St. Louis, Mo. native guided Illinois Wesleyan to wins against two of the best teams in the league, Feb. 7-10, as he led IWU to at least a share of the CCIW Regular Season title. Additionally, the wins helped the Titans lock up the No. 1 seed in next week's CCIW Tournament.

Roper averaged 21.5 points per game with an impressive 50.0 field goal percentage. He was even better from distance, converting at a 60.0 clip, while finishing the week 16-for-17 at the free throw line. Roper pulled in 5.5 rebounds per game over the two-game stretch.

He began the week with a career-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds in a gritty win over Elmhurst, Feb. 7. He followed that up with 18 points at Carthage, Feb. 10, to secure IWU's 33rd CCIW Regular Season title all-time.

The Titans travel to North Park University Wednesday, Feb. 14. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at NPU Gymnasium.
