NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Days after leading the Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team to a pair of top-25 wins, senior Hakim Williams (Round Lake, Ill.-Round Lake) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week Tuesday, Nov. 12. It is the first weekly award of Williams' career.

Williams led the 16th-ranked Titans to the Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational Championship, Nov. 8-9, as the Green and White defeated No. 24 California Lutheran and second-ranked UW-Platteville.

The Round Lake, Ill. native averaged 14.0 points per game over the two-game span, shooting 76.9 percent from the floor. Williams went 10-of-13 overall from the field and 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, while finishing 5-for-6 at the free throw line. He added 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per contest.

In Illinois Wesleyan's win over Cal Lutheran, Williams led the team with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while dishing out five assists. He followed that up with 11 points in the Titans' 86-66 defeat of No. 2 UW-Platteville, while serving as a key piece of a defense that held the Pioneers to their lowest point total since Jan. 24, 2024 and limited the reigning national player of the year to 5-of-13 shooting.

Williams and the Titans return to action at the University of Wisconsin-Stout this Saturday, Nov. 16. Tipoff between IWU and the Blue Devils is set for 11 a.m.
