NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Senior Mush Bakirdan (Morton, Ill.-Morton) was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Offensive Player of the Week, Tuesday, Oct. 8. This is the first of his career and the second weekly award by a Titans this season as junior Logan Tierney (Bloomington, Ill.-Bloomington) earned it Sept. 10.

Bakirdan played a key role in last week's CCIW opener against Carthage College, Oct. 5. The game was looking grim for the Titans after the Firebirds led 3-nil early in the second half, but Bakirdan proved to be the catalyst for IWU's comeback.

The senior scored the first and last goals to push the Titans to a 5-4 victory against the Firebirds. IWU trailed 3-nil until the 63rd minute when Tierney and Bakirdan connected for the Titans first goal. Making up some ground, the Titans were quick to score two more goals to tie up the game as the game entered the final 10 minutes. Utilizing a free kick just outside the box, Bakirdan caught Carthage sleeping with a quick reset as he fired a shot around an unset wall for the go-ahead goal.

The Titans take on another CCIW foe in Wheaton College this Wednesday, Oct. 9. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Joe Bean Stadium.
