NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Junior Hannah Tellor (Metamora, Ill.-Metamora Township) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league Monday, Oct. 14. The weekly award marks the first of the junior transfer's career.

Tellor is the sixth Titan to earn a weekly award this season, and the fourth defensive selection. She joins Taylor French (offensive, Oct. 7), Sophia Feeney (setter, Oct. 7), Alysa Lawton (defensive, Sept. 16), and Kannyn Boyd (defensive, Sept. 9 and Oct. 7).

She helped the Green and White offense hit .225 for the week, while limiting its opponents to a .114 attack percentage. The middle hitter racked up 18 kills, an average of 1.64 per set, along with a monstrous 12 total blocks, averaging 1.09 rejections per set, while adding seven digs, two assists, and an ace for the week.

Opening the week with a sweep of CCIW foe Carthage College Wednesday night, Oct. 9, giving the Green and White sole possession of first place in the standings with a perfect 5-0 record, Tellor notched seven kills on a .417 clip, along with three blocks, two digs, and an assist. The junior followed with seven kills, four blocks, two digs, and an ace in the five-set victory over Wartburg College Friday afternoon, Oct. 11. Finishing with her best performance of the week, Tellor posted five blocks, four kills, three digs, and an assist in the sweep of University of Wisconsin-River Falls a few hours later to close out the week for Illinois Wesleyan.
