NAPERVILLE, Ill. - After leading the Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball to a pair of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin wins last week, junior Nick Roper (St. Louis, Mo.-MICDS) was selected as the league's player of the week Monday, Jan. 15. It is the first weekly award of his career, while it is the second of season by a Titan (Luke Yoder - Nov. 20).

Roper paced IWU with 13.0 points per game and was second on the team with 6.5 rebounds per contest. He added averages of two steals, one block, and one steal over the two-game stretch. The St. Louis, Mo. native was effective, shooting 56.3 percent from the floor, and 40.0 percent from three-point distance to lead IWU to the top spot in the conference standings.

Roper's best game of the week came against Millikin, Jan. 10, as the junior guard went for 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting. He knocked down two three-pointers and was a perfect 4-for-4 at the free throw line. The St. Louis, Mo. product added six points and 10 rebounds in IWU's win over Carthage, Jan. 13.

The Titans hit the road for a pair of games this week beginning with a trip to King Arena in Wheaton, Ill. Wednesday, Jan. 17. There, IWU will spar with Wheaton College. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
