NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Sophomore Taylor French (Romeoville, Ill.-Plainfield East) of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's volleyball team was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Hitter of the Week Tuesday, Sept. 6. This marks the third weekly award on French's young career.

The Romeoville, Ill. native picked up right where she left off from last season, leading the IWU attack against three nationally ranked opponents. French posted 15, 24, and 14 kills in IWU's three matches. The sophomore outside finished with 24 kills, one off from her career-high, two aces, and nine digs in a five-set bout with 11th-ranked Berry. She closed out the weekend with a 14-kill, 14-dig double-double.

Through opening weekend, which saw the Titans play the toughest competition, she leads the conference in kills per set and points (4.88). 

French and the Titans return to action Friday, Sept. 8, as Illinois Wesleyan hosts the first of three home tournaments.
