Sam Kedzior (Cary, Ill.-Cary Grove) was named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Week as awarded by the conference office Tuesday, Sept. 5. This is Kedzior's second weekly honor of his career.
The Titans home opener victory over Washington University in St. Louis on Sept. 1 marks the first-ever win over the Bears in the program's history, moving their new series record to 1-18-2.
Kedzior assembled an outstanding game between the posts for the Illinois Wesleyan soccer team to break down the Bears attack of Washington University in St. Louis. Kedzior played all 90 minutes, facing nine shots and totaled two saves with a perfect save percentage on the evening. The Cary, Ill. native is ranked first in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in save percentage (1.000) and shutouts per game (1.000), while ranking fourth in saves per game (2.00).
The Green and White is set to return to the pitch tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 6 against Aurora University. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Vago Field in Aurora.
